Old vs. New MSExcel (new is 2007 MSExcel)
I was very comfortable with older versions of MS Excel. I it with ease and speed, gaining years of knowhow over many projects and situations. I don't do anything too complex, but I used MS Excel a lot!
Now I am involved with an urgent project on a new computer and bought the MS Office Suite for the new machine.
I find 2007 MS Excel counter intuitive and a real drag.

QUESTION: Is there anyone who has invented a way to replace the overly (for my purposes) complex menus of the 2007 version with older one that I used with speed and ability for over 12 years?
When I simply want to do things like insert rows and columns, sort data rows, etc. I find I have to click on many menu items vs. the old one or two clicks. And I have to learn a whole new way, using huge pain in the online MS help menus. I spend my time looking things up, trying to find what I am looking for, just to do simple things!

HELP - I hate the new version and spreadsheets from the new version will not load on my old machine which has earlier versions of MS Excel. THANKS!

Spreadsheets from the new version WILL load on the old version if you save them in old format.

    1. Open your new sheet
    2. Select File > Save AS
    3. In the Save dialog, use the File Type drop box to select an older version of Excel
    4. Provide a filename and SAVE.

The document is now openable in the old progam.

There are also ADD-ONS that allow older versions of Excel to open the new versions, too.

My Excel 2003 has an option in the SAVE AS TYPE listing to save in Excel 2007 format... pretty nifty.
