    Looking for 70's(?) song & artist
    Help!! I'm looking for a song & artist I believe to be from the 70's.
    Something in the lyrics sounds like "Playin at the governor's ball."
    Male group. Not much else to go on except that I thought it was Dr. Hook.

    Thought it was Dr. Hook but it's not. Might be Celebrity Ball by Plastic Penny (1968) but I can't find a sample to verify.

    Wow this is driving me mad! Sounds more like Three Dog Night the more I think about it. "playin at the celebrity ball" or something close to that.
