    Title for car
    Hello
I purchased a car for 1200 dollars received a bill of sale
It wasn't room to sign the title so the lady said she would
Sent in for a new title to be signed. It has been over a month
So I called and she said she was mad a her boyfriend and she
Wasn't going to send in the title. Can I do anything with the bill
Of sale and cancelled check stating paid in full to get the title.
I really need the car to drive to work and I am out of the money
Please help I am a single mom.

? No room to sign ? That into itself scares me, since a new title would have a place to sign.

But you sue them in court for the value of the car, they will either pay you the money back or give you the title

Not sure what state you're in, but my advice is based on WI law.

Did you buy this vehicle from a dealership or private party. There are a few spots on the back to sign the title when you sell it; the only people who are allowed to fill more than one spot is a dealership when the vehicle is being sold to another dealer. If you bought it private party, she should already have had the vehicle titled in her name. If she didn't title the vehicle in her name, then the DMV isn't going to recognize her as the legal owner; in their eyes, she had no right to sell you the car as it never belonged to her.

Send her a certified letter stating that if she doesn't send you the title within 14 days, you are going to file a small claims suit against her for the full amount plus court costs. If she still refuses, then do just that.
