How to Garnish a Tax Return
I have a judgement against a previous tenant since March 2009 for 2,15.00. I havent' received anything from him and he's been attempting to hide from me. He's currently unemployed and collecting unemployment. I understand he may be planning on starting to draw SSN since he just turned 62.
I heard I may be able to try and garnish his Income Tax Return. If this is possible does anyone know how this is done?
    Thank you,

An individual cannot lien against an income tax refund - your best bet is to hope he deposits it and then lien against his bank account (if that is legal in your State).

Judy is right, you cannot file against someone's tax return - which personally, I find bogus because the courts are allowed to do it for traffic citations. But anyway...

Your best bet is to try and find out where he does his banking. One you do that, freeze his account(s).
