Garnishment on wages reduced from 25% to 15%
In sept of this year my wages were garnished for a credit card bill . They were taking 25% of my pay. I knew this would cause a great hardship on me so I filed with the court to have a hearing on this garnishment. While waiting for my court date the creditor is taking the 25% of my pay. The judge reduced the garnishment to 15% of my wages. So, now the creditor will be taking 15% instead of 25% Now my question is: While waiting for my court date the creditor had taken 25% from 2 of my paychecks. Do I receive the difference back from that? Or does it take affect when the judge signs the new order ?

In NY it takes effect when the Order is signed. You don't get a refund.
