Ford Motor Credit - New Hampshire
Hello, and first off, if this is a duplicate post I am very sorry. I tried to look for a similar post but didn't find anything.

OK, I have a debt with Ford Motor Credit. I had a truck loan with them for three years. About two years ago I was going through a very rough time and was unable to pay, which resulted in them calling me and threatening to repo the truck. I made arrangements to pay them and di so, then a week later they repo'd the truck anyway. Fun! When I contacted them, they wanted nothing to do with me but insisted that I pay them $5,000 immediately. (the original loan was for $7,000 at 21%... I was young)

It has gone to a lawyer and we had agreed upon a reduced amount, I lost my job shortly after and contacted them. They said it was OK. Then I got a letter from small claims court. More fun! When I went to small claims, I spoke to the judge and told him I understand I owe the money and that at the moment I was still unemployed. He gave me a set amount and told me to write the court if I had a problem paying it. Two months later I was still collecting unemployment. I have written the court and CC'd the Lawyer's office TWICE explaining my situation and that I was looking for employment.

My payment is due in three days. I have gotten a job and have just sent out a check for a payment. Today, I receive a letter from the lawyer asking that the court issue a warrant. I have done everything I could possibly due and these pooh heads are being jerks. What can I do? Can I file something for grievences? *Sorry so long!*

    Hello tt:

What's to do? Nothing. You made your payment. Make sure you make the next one too. The court has given you lots of latitude - LOTS. Sure, the other side are jerks - DUH!

OK, so don't worry about the letter I received that was sent to the court asking for an issuance of a warrant? I did what the judge had instructed me to do and the lawyers are insisting that I get charged and arrested.

    Hello again:

I wouldn't worry about it. We don't have debtors prison in this country. Even if you told Ford to stick it where the sun don't shine, they can't arrest you.

Maybe you need to re-read the letter. I don't know. If you didn't do something you were supposed to do, then I'd contact the court. Otherwise, let these lawyers scream their heads off.
