Collecting judgements - can several ways be done at once?
I received Abstract of Judgement, recorded, which basically put a lien on my real property. What I want to know is can the creditor also go after wages and/or bank account too now that he has a lien on my property? In other words, do all three at the same time. Is the debtor informed if Bank Levy is placed? Or does the money just disappear?

As soon as a judgement is issued, they can "swipe" your account. This has happened to me and we haven't deposited any money in that account since. We have been giving "mom" the cash and she writes a check or calls in our payment for us. Until this is all paid, which will be very very soon, I will not get another account either. I am sorry to say, you don't have much choice but to pay what you owe and get on with life. Otherwise it makes for a lot of weight on your sholders.

Judgements [ 4 Answers ]

I moved 2 months ago and did not notify the Collection Agency of my new address. I left a forwarding address at the Post Office and have received nothing from them by mail. If so, the post office would have forwarded it to me. Someone told me a Collection Agency can legally seek an "undercover"...
