Can I get the full amount of the money I sue for if he doesn't pay in time?
My ex stole everything from me when we lived together. He also stole all my receipts that I kept in a glass jar. So I sued him for $3000 and won. But the judgment was only for $1600. Someone told me that if he doesn't pay the full amount or try to make payments within 14 days of judgment, I can get the full $3000. Is that true? Because its been over 6 months & I can't any money from him because he's not working. And I don't want to waste my time going over there with the cops to get my things because he's going to tell them that my things belong to his mom because he's living with her & I don't have proof. Help please...

You say the Judge only awarded you $1,600. So to me that means that you could not prove you owned $3,000. Worth of stuff and that he stole that much so if that is the case then you can not sue for the difference.
You can keep taking him back to court for non payment.

How do you figure you could go over there with the cops to retrieve your stuff? Was that an option in court or somebody just saying you should?
If the Judge said you could take the police over and the Judge gave you a list of what items he awarded the money for then you should be able to reclaim that stuff.

Did the Judge tell you what stuff that you were entitled to be compensated for or did the Judge just come up with a figure they thought would be fair?
You need to do something after 6 months it could look like you quit caring or something.

Sorr going over there to get your stuff should have been the option before you sued, or your request in court as part of the settlement.

And no, he will never owe 3000 if the judge awarded 1600. The full amount is now only 1600 since that was the amount of the judgement

I ask the clerk what I can do about getting my money because he hasn't pay me and she gave me a paper that describes a few things I can do. One option is I can try getting money from his tax return & I tried that option but he's not working so of course he's not going to do his taxes. Another option is to go over there with the cops & get things that belongs to him to compensate for what he owes me & that's not going to happen because he's going to lie & say that it belongs to his mother because he doesn't live there but he does. Or I can find out where he works & get money deducted from his pay check but I think he gets pay under the table so I don't know what to do. I can keep taking him to court but I have a feeling that he's not going to show up. What other option do I have? He's not even paying me for child support.

You can tell the court he is working under the table and where,
You can take the police and a list of your stuff at least and hope for the best.
You may even be able to get a garnishment put on any bank accts.
He should have bad credit with all this.

Also keep taking him back to court to get the child support order enforced.
