Linking, but not legally, a current business to a bar
My family runs a billiards store and we are looking to branch out and open a pool hall/bar. Does anyone know if we can link the two businesses together by name, but legally keep the retail business safe from any lawsuits running a bar may incur?

    Hello h:

Sure you can. One you can call Sam's Billiards. The other you can call Sam's Bar. They don't even have to be linked legally to each other in order to have the same name, as long as they're run separately. However, to have the billiard store to NOT have any liability for the bar, you'll need to incorporate the bar, unless they DON'T share the same space.

There's a lot of factors involved, as you can see. See a lawyer to do it right.

I definitely will see a lawyer! I just wanted some opinions first about if it was do-able. Thanks for your advice!
