Difference between courier mode and cargo mode?

What is the difference between courier mode and cargo mode?

I am sending Gift boxes to India through freight forwarder how should it go cargo or courier mode?

How many type of cargo modes are there?

If I send unaccompained baggage to India through freight forwarder how it will travel in which mode and what documents required at destination?
