    Is my goal really possible?
    Hi!

Before I get on the AMHD fourm bandwagon, here is a good question for you experts.

"Does anyone here think that going from dark brown to olive is to far? I was naturally a light person years ago (childhood) and was mostly tan during that time (East African). I guess I should show off the childhood pics to keep the the nosy people satisfied.

How long could it take before the sun damage reverses? Lastly, how long will it take to see this change using natural methods like exfoliation and sunblock?"

Hope you would give some attention to this! Your answer is welcomed :D

Hard to tell without aid of a photo, and example photo of your skin tone you desire.

Exfoliation and sunblock will help to a degree, but I agree, it depends on your features and other factors to see your current complexion and the shade you are at now. You do not have to show your eyes, though. I'm Ethiopian mixed and when I was living there (including in the States) I didn't use sunblock and I was always outside, so I continued to tan further.

I see what both of you are saying. Firstly, on features... mine are 100% Somali which happen to include sharp angles (moderate everything... nose, ears, mouth, ect). I can't count how many times I get confused for a punjabi or pakistani (born with straight hair :p).

Tone wise, Since I never used sunblock... I came to the same shade as Will Smith in the following photo:

However, my parents would say... I used to have a very arab-like complexion. I'm aiming to patiently and safely move towards a tone like Dwayne Johnson shown here:

I'm reading this great blog on nartural methods which is called All About Skin Lightening Great Stuff.

Luckily, my family doesn't frown on using a subtle and safe method of lightning. I'm done high school this year. I only have 2 great friends since I don't really hang out much with other people (Parties =\= my faith lol).

Any other questions? I'm thinking of starting in the spring just before high school is out. No one will remember moi! :D

Let us know how your new regimen will go. Exfoliation and sunblock may help lighten a shade or 2, that I know of. What exfoliators will you be using? I didn't see the photo of Dwayne Johnson, it didn't show up... but "The Rock" is a nice shade, and very attractive.

For exfoliation, I'm still designing the regime. It's really a mix of peels, potent AHAs, etc. I'm going to add Vitamin C Serum as well papaya soap (again it's from the safe methods found on http://allaboutskinlightening.blogspot.com/).

I'm also planning on using MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane) which is a natural sulfur supplement. I might post a thread about it's benefits with great tips/success stories I found online.

Other then that... I'd say most people see "brightening" 1-3 months and "lightening" in 3-6 months. Patience is key as I understand it.

Thanks for the feedback. If you or anyone else has a good point, please chime in!

Oh no problem with the large Dwayne Johnson pic, he is nice to look at.

Up_north how many mg of msm and vitamin c do you plan to take daily?

I recently purchased some liquid msm, I tasted a little of it and the taste was not pleasant, so I may have to dilute it with water. The liquid vitamin c I have tastes pretty good, I had to get used to it because although the taste is nice, it is more like a thick nectar made with a glycerin base.

I'm a really tall guy (6'6") so my weight will obviously be different then let's say yourself. From what I can gather online (extensively researched by moi), MSM only contains 1/3 the amount of Sulfur. If someone weighs say 125 pounds, they MUST take 32,000 mg of msm to achieve lightning... NOT JUST BRIGHTNING.

Some advise that if you're new to MSM, start low (just half the amount you take of the powder if you switch to crystal form).

For the taste, some people take MSM in powder form & mix it with some lemon drops, vitamin C powder and a little bit of salt to minimize the sourness.

I know that MSM helps in achieving soft, fast hair growth, fading long term scars, fast nail growth, overall brightening of tone, etc. Increase intake (natural & safe) to get overal lightning. I'll make a thread on MSM by Friday with the really good tips!! Reason is that I have tests and all that for school now :/)

This is the logic from another skin lightning forum:

Quote Originally Posted by Madamdeblue @ The Bright Skin Forum

Msm is only 34% sulfur so those of you taking 5,000 mg to even 10,000, are only getting 1705mg-3410mg of sulfur. I used to take 8000mg of msm and would wonder why it seems my skin is clearing up, becoming smoother and brightening a little instead of a lot. I know it sucks. This is why so many say their skin is brightening instead of whitening. I have calculated how much msm I would have take. I weigh 125 so I would have take 32,000 mg of msm to equate the amount of sulfur I need, which is 10,912. I used the thienna sulfur chart..
I'll follow up on this thread as well

Not cool is talking about quick nail growth :/
Remember that some info is for the ladies sake.

    Your welcome :P

From a dark brown to an olive tone, what celebrity would you say your current tone is similar too? I believe it is possible to reach this goal, I'm unsure how much of MSM will lighten to this degree. But how safe is taking 32,000 mg daily, as it is an awful lot? But, you'll have to take high amounts of vitamin c (liquid being best, ascorbic acid) to assist with the absorption. As well as a good msm lotion containing 15% or more msm topically applied daily to increase the lightening results.

I quoted in my other thread on what is the safe amount need for MSM

Like anyone, I have several tones due to usual factors (tanned vs. covered, etc.) :P

I'll upload the skin shade chart which says I'm a shade 9/8 with a yellow tone. I'm aiming for shade 5/4. If you really need my image I'll do what you said before...

OK, I'll chek the thread out thanks. You don't have to upload your pic, a skin shade chart is fine. Does the chart have actual shades of skin of people or is it the type that has the general computer colors?
