Hey I just read an article about "Gloriel" a couple of days back and want to learn more about it. I know that it can change the complexion to either light or dark, depending on what you choose? They will probably charge an arm and a leg for it, maybe very expensive.

Gloriel and the issue of skin lightening
Created by "Pratik Lodha and Eman Ahmed-Muhsin, two graduate students at Carleton University,Canada, developed a skin-lightening cream called Gloriel." But the article was written in back 2007. If the product is released in 2012, that would be nice, but I'm not that patient. I would definitely hope to reach my goal before 2012! But, it would be nice to see it come out... as long as it doesn't cost like $200 a jar.
Here's another one GloRiel - OttawaTechCommunity

Still sounds like just a science project, what are the proposed ingredients and wouldn't the research on those ingredients take years? Clinican trials etc. It claims it will work at genetic level.

That's just it. Americanjedi mentioned 2012 and that was their one and only post. I had searched for a date of the release but nothing showed up. I was trying to find which active ingredients in Gloriel that supposedly made it so successful, but couldn't find anything on that either. Only talks about how it works in relations to our RNA, so they are very secretive.
To be honest, I pretty much lost interest right now because I'm not going to wait years for them to come out with their product and it's not even guaranteed. I rather find out what works right now. As Gloriel still seems to be at the science project level, so all it seems to be is just talk. When it comes and if it comes... then I'll get excited.

After reading this proposed "genetic" method, its just hogwash! Claims product will de-activat the gene in skin cells' DNA sequence responsible for melanogenic expression.
In other words, TRP-1 antigen therapy, which not even dying melanoma patients can afford or fully prognose.
In layman's term, a "Vaccine" or "Cure" for having Dark Skin. *cringe*

What is this "TRP-1 antigen therapy"?
Layman and his terms must be mighty dumb and foolish, to have color is only natural in order to protect us and is a choice to either darken or lighten one's skin... nothing to be cured. Only preferance.

Its very complicated but basically its treatment for people with melanomic skin cancer that targets the melanocytes, killing or suppressing their activities? Something like that. Sorry, I'm not that smart like Lil Greg. :)
That Gloriel guy is probably going to apply a TRP mRNA-interfering drug like IMATINIB to induce hypopigmentation.
So far none of these drugs taken internally have lightened the eye pigmentation which suggests it's not distrubuted evenly throughout the body.
So I don't think his science experiment will work. We shall see I guess by 12/21/2012 if we're still around?
