    Chameleon Color Changes
Hi! I have a very odd complexion problem. I am normally fair-skinned:) , but when the temperature turns hot, no matter that I am cooped up in my room with the shades not drawn -- in short, really no sun anywhere -- my skin turns tan:( . People have commented not only once that I looked like I just got from the beach. Their comments are usually wonderful like, "Wow! You have such a great tan! What beach did you go to?" It should make me feel happy save for the fact that NO, I DID NOT GO TO THE BEACH! In fact, I do not like the outdoors. Actually, I hate the sun. This has been bothering me for quite a time now. Is this what you call 'hyperpigmentation:confused: ?" I could change colors like a chalemeloen in a matter of a few minutes. As in fair to tan, just like that, due to temperature changes. I'd appreciate any input on this. Thanks!

Welcome to the board, glowinggirl. I've received your PM. This is a skin care question, so I will answer it on this forum. Environmental factors such as heat, wind and sun can make your skin dry, and as a result, your skin will appear dull or darker. Also, genetics is another factor that can cause your skin to look dry or change in color. The regular use of moisturizers can help your skin look healthy.

All skin is subject to a range of problems, regardless of skin color or ethnic background. Whether it is dry or oily skin, blemishes, scarring, wrinkles, skin discolorations, disorders, or sensitivity, and even risk of sun damage, all men and women share similar struggles. So, while there are some distinctions between varying ethnic groups when it comes to skin problems and skin-care options, overall these differences are minor in comparison to the number of similarities.

I know what you mean. I'm yellow and when I take a hot steamy shower, I'm dark redish brown and when I dry off in my bedroom I turn back yellow. I also have hyperpigmentation on my face and neck.
