Sores much like blood blisters, but.not
    Hi... :(

For the past few months I have started noticing dime sized blister like bumps on my skin. They start as just red bumps, then progress to something much like a blood blister. Then one day it will just turn into an open sore that refuses to close. I have noticed them most under my arms and on my stomach. I have gone to a dermatologist and they have no idea what is causing this. Does anyone else have this problem, or know anything about them?

Try looking up pressure ulcers. If the images match, then go to G.P. for antibiotic cream. Good luck

Antibiotic cream won't help pressure ulcers. Pressure ulcers occur from 'shearing', normally bed ridden individuals get them on ankles, feet from constantly pushing up and down to adjust bed rest. Pressure ulcers can progress to destroying all layers of skin to the bone and are extremely difficult to heal.

I don't think OP has pressure ulcers. I find it difficult to believe a dermatologist could not diagnose this 'sore'. If they cant, then they would give allergy tests to determine what it is.

Without seeing it, difficult to place it in any category.

I'm wondering what I have then... I have blood blister like sores on my inner thighs and lower stomach "flap." (I weigh over 300 pounds) . I showed my G.P. and he prescribed Mupirocin crème, and proper wound care. The sores healed up well. The trouble is that I'll get another round, even with good hygene practices, since I cannot predict where they are going to turn up next. I can only treat, not prevent.
