I noticed this on one side two weeks ago and then noticed the other day it was now the same on the other side. The sores are red, raw and flaking A lot! It has even begun to crack into a cut in one place. It runs right along the crease of my legs for about two inches. It is not very sore just occasionally a bit itchy.

Some additional details that might help:
- I have not been sexually active for three months
- I usually shave down there but have not since I noticed these sores
- I did have mild thrush about two months ago which cleared up with treatment.. but wondering could it be related
- My attempt to fix it has involved washing the area carefully with no soap, wearing loose fitting cotton underwear and occasionally applied sudocrem

What could this be? Any help hugely appreciated, thank you!

There are countless skin conditions it could be, and with a crack in the skin you should see a dermatologist AND you should be washing once a day with mild unscented soap and rinsing and drying well, especially air drying by lying on your bed for as long as you can after bathing.
The main concern is bacteria getting into a crack in the skin. If a rash starts to spread quickly, that would be one main sign of an infection.
Yes, the thrush can be related, as can the shaving.

Hi joypulv, thanks for your reply!
I have spent the last few days being very attentive washing the area with mild anti-bacterial soap and letting dry well by lying on my bed as you suggested.
I spoke to my local pharmacist and she suggested applying Savlon! Now after 3 days I can't believe it has improved massively.. almost gone on one side.

I made an appointment with my gp which is tomorrow I almost thought I would not go cause it has improved so much but decided I will just in case.
