I have eczema just right behind my elbows and around them. This is the reason why I don’t wear short-sleeved shirts/blouses. I try to hide them. Nothing my dermatologist (I think) is working for me. I’m going to talk to another dermatologist for another opinion. Can you suggest anything that I can try to get rid of the eczema? Thanks.

You didn't say what your dermatologist suggested for your treatment, but I know steroids are often used to control outbreaks. The following is a good website which may educate you a little more on your condition. By all means, if you need a second opinion, I think that is a good idea. I understand how frustrating that could be. Do talk to another derm and ask about elidel. It’s the safest and most effective product in treating eczema. It helps avoid itch attacks and help heal the eczema itself. It's available in any local or online pharmacy out there. Also, ask what type of material you can use for your shirts/blouse. Something that can avoid irritating the eczema. Hope this helps and you take care.

Only cotton shirts washed in mild detergent. Don't use fabric softener. Alternate lotions, like use one for a couple days, then switch. Apply after shower or bath. Do you have soft water? Also go tanning in a tanning booth, not enough to get a burn, just a healthy glow. Change your diet as well. It could be something your eating or not eating. Hydrocortizone 1% use very little at a time, on only really bad skin days. It works but is known not to be good for you.
