Shaving in particular facilitates razor bumps and ingrown hairs because it “sharpens” the hair end that then pierces back into the skin resulting in the characteristic redness and inflammation, which leads to dark spots. To calm and soothe the face, men should shave and wash in a downward direction. Shaving in the direction of the hair growth will prevent hair from being cut too short.

Here's a link that has a product that may help your dark spots.
