AC not working after power interruption
I have a Janitrol "Dependable Ninety Two" furnace A/C. Unit is about 3 years old. The power went off briefly yesterday (less than 2 minutes). When it came back on, the fan worked, but compressor didn't. I found one fuse box on the side of the furnace with one T-20 fusetron. I replaced it (wasn't sure if it had blown, but figured I could try). Didn't help. Should there be other fuses nearer the compressor outside? Would the problem be something else? It has an air cleaner attached, too, but that also seems to be working. I can't find the literature (of course). Thanks!

There should be a circuit breaker or fuses just for the outside unit. If you have a main electric panel, look for a two pole 30 amp breaker. If you have a fuse box, you should have two cartridge fuses. There could also be a box outside that haves a breaker or fuses in it.

Is the fan on the outdoor unit running? Usually if the power is shut off to the outdoor unit and then turned right back on the compressor won't start back up, sometimes they have built in time delays, but if the fan is running that won't be the problem. Try shutting the power off to the outdoor unit, let it sit for awhile and try starting it back up.

What fan works? The inside one or the one on your outside unit.
