Hinduism

Hinduism (known as Hindū Dharma in some modern Indian languages[1]) is a religion which originated on the Indian subcontinent. In contemporary usage Hinduism is also referred to as Sanātana Dharma (सनातन धर्म), a Sanskrit phrase meaning "eternal law".[2]

With its origins in the Vedic civilization [3] it has no known founder,[4][5] being itself a conglomerate of diverse beliefs and traditions. It is the world's oldest extant religion, [6][7] and has approximately a billion adherents, of whom about 905 million live in India and Nepal,[8] placing it as the world's third largest religion after Christianity and Islam. Other countries with large Hindu populations include Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, Fiji, Suriname, Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago.

Historical origins and aspects of society
Relatively little is known about the origins of Hinduism, as it predates recorded history. It has been said to derive from beliefs of the Aryans. The hundreds of faith and beliefs of Dravidians, and Harappans living in the Indian subcontinent, before the Aryans came to India, was combined under the Hindu term during the British Raj. Subsequently Buddhism and Jainism, were also drafted in to Hinduism. Varying ideas of the origin of the Veda and understandings of whether the Aryans were native or foreign to Indian soil can change estimates of Hinduism's age from 4000 to 6000 years.

All the living and non living creatures, the planet earth, all other planets, the milky way are created and maintained by a powerful intelligent being whom we call God. God made humans special over all other creatures. Since he created humans, he guided them the right path, what they should do and what they shouldn't do on this earth, thorugh his messengers. To every community, or country he sent a messenger. He also sent a messenger to the people of Indus Valley to guide them. Some people believed the messenger, while other denied him. After the messengers death, the followers changed the original religion slowly over time, the modern hindu religion we see is the result of this change by its followers.
