    Vauxhall Vectra
I Have changed the engine on my 1998 Vauxhall Vectra 2.0L, if we connected the water hoses, the wrong way round on the throttle housing would this allow water into the engine?

Or is there any other reason water could get into the engine, replacement engine has done 48.000 miles

This isn't specific to a Vectra; I'm not aware of any engine that would get water into it simply by reversing the inlet and outlet coolant. Was this a junkyard engine? A rebuild?

    Possibilities include:

. A warped head and leaking head gasket, or

    . A cracked head.

This engine came from a brakers and cost £200, and had 47.00 miles on it

I think TX is on the right path. There's something wrong internally, and the head/gasket is most likely.

Sent back engine for Vectra, new one arriving today, so hopefully this one will be OK.
