All that I remember is this movie was about two twins and they didn't remember where they came from but they can hear eachothers thoughts and have powers... but eventually the find some strange man dressed in purple and he tells them to put there hands together and a purple light comes out and he says everyone has a twin somewhere... thats all I remember and it wasn't escape to witch mountain... help:(

It actually is Escape to Witch Mountain, but it was the 1995 remake.
The twins names are Danny and Anna, and they actually live in the same orphanage only they don't know each other yet. They discover later that they're twins, and when they put their hands together they form a purple energy; the purple light is the way for the twins to get home to their planet, where everyone has a twin.
I used to watch this movie all the time on the Disney Channel... it's a wonderful movie!

This person is right. It was on the disney channel and I loved this movie too. I remember it because of the purple light. It was hard to find for me as well because I remembered the title-but I kept getting the older ones on the search. I found out later that it was a remake of the old ones.;)
