    Patronizing
How would u deal with two patronizing colleagues?
One is just the receptionist (but she is related to the CEO (sister inlaw) whilst the other is kind of my superior!
    But its getting to me!

    Dear Krs,

I want to try and answer your question. But, I am having trouble with the word patronizing, as it can have several meanings. Please explain further.

    Thank you!

By the way, I agree that the only time that you lie is when you are afraid.

Oh Krs. That has to be infuriating. But I know the feeling.

What to do? Smile and go about your day. Do your best for them NOT to see a reaction in you. The more they see that it is not having an effect on you, they will soon tire of doing it.

Most if not all who talk down to people, is largely due to their own insecurities. Sadly, the only way that some can feel good about themselves, is to put others down.

Sometimes the best reaction... is no reaction. It is infuriating, I know, but if you just keep in mind what makes them do it, you can almost feel sorry for them.

Think about it, if you are a strong confident, feel good about yourself type of person, would you have the need to put someone else down? No.

And if the above doesn't due the trick, you may share my signature with them.;)

Krs, I agree with Allheart completely. A thought came into my mind while reading her signature. Do both those people come into your work area? Create a sign on your computer with Allheart's quote and tack it up or frame it and hang it, in plain view so they cannot miss it! LOL That will make them think twice. Or, if you can find someone who will print that saying on a big button that you can pin to your shirt or jacket, it might even have a bigger impact. That should make them feel very small and shut them up.

I have found this the best way to handle co workers who seek to make you feel small. Not only is it maddening to them when they can't get a rise from you, they will tend to leave you alone.
