    If you do not like your landlord, you merely give notice as agreed to in the rental agreement, and move.

    Please moving is not option right at moment! Anyway we all at apt just got notice we either show landlord proof of renters insuranc or pay every month 10 more dollars,I think renters insurance is good but I have been here 1 yr 5 month and recently 5 months ago renewed lease we pay 519. Month already for 1 bedroom can they out of cleal blue sky demand this??

    If it is not in the lease you signed, than it cannot be enforced. Lease is a contract and both parties have to agree to change that contract.

    Report this to the state attorney and rent commission in your area.
