    To phenocopy?
    Could any one please explain what it means to "phenocopy" in the following sentence?

    "Enhanced expression of CYP3A5 caused by exposure to inducers may phenocopy the effects of the high expression allele CYP3A5*1."

    The context is here:

    I can find the definition of the word as a noun, but not as a verb...

    It simply means it will have the same effect. So large amounts of CYP450 3A5 will have a very similar effect to enhanced amounts of CYP450 3A5*1. They only use the word pheno as it is a phenomenon caused by altered expression of genetic information.

    Oddly enough, I researched CYP450 3A4 and 2D6...
