I have a Carrier upflow furance model 58GFA105-16 with a Honeywell programmable thermostat model ct3200. The pilot lights and is blue and strong. Every once in a while I will notice the air from the ducts is cool. When checking, the pilot is out. Lights as stated. I have noticed that when heater comes on the blower starts before the burners light, leading me to believe that the blower is blowing out the pilot light. Is this normal? Thanks in advance for any help.

The controls on a furnace normally start the burner before the blower that distributes the warm air comes on. That air should be separated from the pilot light by the heat exchanger. If running the furnace on fan only or AC creates air movement in the combustion area, you have a leak. If in the heat exchanger, you may want to consider a new furnace.

Some furnaces have a smaller blower that supplies combustion air. If it is blowing out a strong pilot light, I am not sure where to go, perhaps turning the pilot up a little.

Is the thermostat wired up right? Red, white, yellow, green, and blue connected to R, W, Y, and B? The digital thermostat may have an RC jumpered to R.

Normally the first step with the pilot going out is to replace the thermocouple. I would do that first unless you are sure it doesn't go out until the blower comes on.
