    Return not received? File again?
I suspect my return hasn't been received by the IRS; I haven't received delivery confirmation notice from the postal service after a few weeks. I'm filing from abroad.

    1. Is there a way to know from the IRS whether they've received it?

    2. If I have reason to believe the first return will not be received, should I send another return?

    3. Since I'm filing from abroad, I still have the two-month automatic extension, correct?

    Thanks!

To be exact: regarding question 2, I mean a regular return or an "amended" return.

Last question first: Yes, you have the automatic 2-month extension.

You can check on the status of your refund by accessing the "Where is my Refund?" application on Internal Revenue Service.

Otherwise, a phone call to the IRS will confirm that they got the return.
