In an underhanded volleyball serve, the ball leaves the server's hand 1m above the floor. Suppose that its initial upward velocity is 7m/sec.
a.HOW high above the floor will it be after 0.3 seconds?
b.If nobody else touches it when will it be:
    i. Back to the level where it was served;
    ii.down on the floor?
    c. The ball reaches its highest level halfway between the time it is and the time it is back at the same level. What time is this? How high is it above the floor then?

A golf ball is hit high into the airwith initial upward velocity of 33m/sec.
a.How high is it after 3 seconds?
b.when will it be 29 meters above the ground?
c.substitute 60 for d and try to solve for t.what this tell you about the ball will be 60 m up?
d.Draw a diagram that illustrates your answer to part(c).

Big guns on naval ships must fire projectiles many kilometeres. To do this, the projectile must also go high into the air. Suppose that the initial upward velocity of a projectile is 300 m/sec.
A.how high will the projectile be 20 seconds after it is fired?
b.when will it reach 1 kilometer above where it was fired?
c.Will it ever be 5000 meters above where it was fired? Explain
d.How long does it take to reach the target, which is at the same level as the projectile level?

An astronaut on the earth practices jumping to the ground from a space ship resting 3 meters above the ground. The initial upward velocity of the jump is 4m/sec.
a.When will the astronaut be back at the same level as the jump?
b.At what time is the highest point reached? How high above the ground is that?
    c. When does the astronaut reach the ground?
d.when the astronaut is on the moon, gravity is much weaker. The equation there is d=rt-o.8t2
Suppose the initial velocity of the jump is still 4m/sec.
I when will the astronaut be back at the same level as the jump?
ii. How high above the moon's surface does the astronaut go?
iii. When does the astronaut land on the mons surface?

A basketball player shoots a long shot. The ball has an initial upward velocity of 6m/sec. When it is released , the ball is at the same level as the basket.
    A. after 0.3 seconds how high is the ball above the basket ?
    B. the basket is 3 meters above the gym floor. After 0.3 seconds, how high is the ball above the gym floor?
    c. Assuming that the aim is good, when will the ball go in the basket?
d.The ball is at its highest halfway between the time it is thrown and the time it goes on the basket. What time is this? How high is the ball above the gym floor?

    Get a life
This is soooo stupid! How lame are you if you come on the computer to do math problems for fun? Get a life.. go lift weights. Run. Do something. Cause you are probably fat especially if you are doing math on the computer for fun. Get laid or something. Just think of how much of a looser you are if you just did that! Aaw.. thats better :)
