    No water
Just got back from 4 month vacation. When I turned on my water pump (deep well, submersible), water gushed from the filter (it had frozen). I turned off the pump, replaced the filter thing, but when I turn the pump back on, it runs, but I get no water. We put air into the bladder, but still no water. Pump cycles and shuts off after a few seconds. Any thoughts?

Perhaps the pump lost prime. Shut the pump- off at the breaker and look on top of the impeller housing for a 1/4" plug. This is where you must prime the pump at. Unscrew it and fill the impeller housing with water. Now put the plug back and start the pump. If it continues to loose prime then you have a bad foot or check valve. Regards, tom

The pump is in the well. The pressure tank has air in it but no water that we can tell. Can you prime a pressure tank?

Your pump's a submersible under water. It shouldn't need to be primed. Check to see if you have power to it. Let me know. Tom
