So who funds these hateful protesters who have invaded campuses across the nation ?

You guessed it . George Soros

The group is 'Education for Just Peace in the Middle East' . Soros and the Rockefeller Foundation is their piggy bank .

This hatred of the Jewish state must be aggressively resisted. They need to be portrayed as the pariahs which in fact they are.

So now the Sr class started college with the pandemic. They were forced into remote Zoom classes after their High School cancelled graduations and proms. Now as they get ready to graduate they are again forced into remote learning.

This is the result of several decades of admins being overly lenient and tolerant of student craziness. It should have been stopped when it was relatively small.

    Texas will lead the way

The governor said in a statement Wednesday that the executive order will mean campuses “are safe spaces for the Jewish community.” It comes months after the state dismantled diversity, equity and inclusion offices, whose responsibilities included making college more inclusive to students of all cultures and backgrounds.
Per Abbott’s order, the chair of the board of regents at each college has 90 days to share documentation verifying revisions were made to free speech policies and evidence that those policies have been enforced.

Not too sure how I feel about the move to "revise free speech policies". People should be free to stand up and protest against Israel so long as it's peacefully carried out. It's the violence and disrupting classes and businesses that should be handled aggressively.

There is nothing peaceful about these protests . Jewish students and professors are under attack . While lip service is paid to free speech ;Jewish students are under attack not seen since Kristallnacht.

Why are Jewish students not safe at Columbia? Blame deep antisemitism (usatoday.com)

If comparisons to Germany doesn't work then try the student Red Guards of Mao's cultural revolution.

The responses from university leaders have been disgraceful. Administrators who never hesitated to send strongly worded statements on real and perceived social-justice issues have been reluctant to condemn Hamas. Similarly, university leaders who regularly silenced non-progressive students and faculty members in the past have suddenly discovered the virtue of “free speech” in addressing anti-Semitism on campus.
Such moral cowardice has likely emboldened some pro-Palestinian students to move from verbal to physical intimidation against Jewish students in recent weeks. At New York City’s Cooper Union College, a librarian had to lock several Jewish students inside the library to protect them from pro-Palestinian protesters pounding on the door. On Harvard’s campus, a group of pro-Palestinian students, including the editor of the Harvard Law Review, surrounded a Jewish student and shouted, “Shame, shame!” These incidents are not examples of “free speech,” but physical intimidation of Jewish students.

Now of course it is not surprising when faculty and administrators on campus are a bunch of enabling appeasers .

when faculty and administrators on campus are a bunch of enabling appeasers .
And have been for decades. That's the core of the problem. Responsible behavior has not been enforced.

“the sharp rise in antisemitic speech and acts on university campuses.”
People are free to speak, and I'm leery of restrictions on that speech or even for calls for such restrictions. They are not free to engage in slander or to either encourage or engage in acts of violence, or even to set up tent cities and occupy public spaces as an act of protest. As the article above said, "Such moral cowardice has likely emboldened some pro-Palestinian students to move from verbal to physical intimidation against Jewish students in recent weeks." And the answer for physical intimidation, or even verbal intimidation for that matter, is to arrest those clowns and, in this case, kick them out of college, or to even stick their sorry tails in jail.

Conservatives have been the victims for a couple of decades now of the repression of free speech on college campuses, either of the official sort or, even worse, as the result of violent mobs. We should be the greatest advocates of free speech. Someone once said something to the effect that the solution for bad ideas is more free speech.

If you want to see how much liberals love free speech, go to a church in San Francisco and try preaching about what the Bible says about homosexual behavior. Then see what kind of welcoming committee you have standing outside the door the following Sunday.

The only real problem I see is that he starts out mentioning public universities ;but his EO applies to all colleges in Texas. Public universities are supported by tax dollars and it is acceptable to have conditions of admission and conduct that includes speech.

My own opinion is that if the protesters want to voice their hate then do it off campus .Maybe they should go to a mosque where such vitriol is welcome. They have been violent and their "free speech" provokes violence.

Pro Jewish genocide "mostly peaceful" protesters are trying to make it a version of the "Summer of Love 2020 " and the occupy movement . It has now gone beyond green tents provided by Soros. They are now breaking into campus buildings and barricading them for a siege.

This happened at Hamilton Hall at Columbia U .

Columbia protests live updates: Hamilton Hall building occupied by pro-Palestinian students (nbcnews.com)

"We will not be moved by these intimidation tactics. You can see the students are mobilized. There's hundreds of them here today. They will not be moved. We demand divestment, we will not be moved unless by force," Seuda Polat, a Columbia University graduate student, said during a press conference Monday.
With student protesters arrested, disciplinary actions vary between schools : NPR

This happened at Cal State Poly Humbolt

When university administrators across the nation worry about the potential fallout from campus protests, they may have Siemens Hall in mind.
The building at California State Polytechnic University, Humboldt, includes the campus president’s office and has been occupied for a week by pro-Palestinian protesters who barricaded themselves inside and fought off an early attempt by the police to remove them. Protesters have since tagged walls and renamed it “Intifada Hall” by ripping off most of the signage on the brick exterior.

Inside, they painted graffiti messages like “Time 2 Free Gaza,” “Pigs Not Allowed,” and “Land Back,” according to a video posted by the local news site Redheaded Blackbelt. They occupied and defaced the office of the president, Tom Jackson Jr., spraying “Blood On Your Hands” across one framed wall hanging and “I Will Live Free or Die Trying” on his door.
The school, situated more than 275 miles north of San Francisco among the ancient coastal redwoods that drip with fog mist, is the site of the nation’s most entrenched campus protest. It has gone well beyond the encampments on student quads elsewhere; at Cal Poly Humboldt, protesters took over the power center of the campus and have rejected increasingly desperate entreaties from officials for them to vacate the premises.

It would've been kind and restrained .

These a$$holes ;funded by outside agitators ;set up an illegal occupation ;chanted for days their support for a terrorist group ;articulated vial antisemitic comments while intimidating and sometimes openly attacked fellow Jewish students.

Their demands for divestment are absurd and will have zero effect on the outcome of the conflict in Gaza. This while recording their exploits using Apple phones .

Wow. Those admins at Northwestern really know how to play hardball with the violent protestors.

The concessions, according to a copy of the agreement published by Northwestern leadership, include:

    • Disclosure of school investments to students who request information.
    • Funding to support two visiting Palestinian faculty members for two years; full-ride scholarships for five Palestinian undergraduate students; and a commitment to fundraise for similar opportunities.
    • Immediate establishment of a temporary community house for Muslim, and Middle Eastern, and North African students and a promise to establish a permanent space.

In exchange, students will only have one tent set up on the picturesque university lawn and will only use amplified sound devices with advanced permission from the school, according to the agreement. They also risk suspension if they don't follow the terms of the agreement.
The message is very obvious. If you want something at Northwestern, then hold several days of wild protests and it will be granted. Well done, NW!!

    This we subsidize

    How so?
Let me count the ways. There are grants ;loan guarantees (and now loan forgiveness) ;direct funding of scholarships that are excluded as income ,and a multitude of higher education incentives built into the tax code.

Federal and state funding, together, continue to make up a substantial share of public college and university budgets, at 34 percent of public schools’ total revenue in 2017.

Mostly what this does is contribute to the higher cost of education.

Credit Supply and the Rise in College Tuition: Evidence from the Expansion in Federal Student Aid Programs | The Review of Financial Studies | Oxford Academic (oup.com)

Reagan's Sec Ed William Bennet predicted this in 1987
If anything, increases in financial aid in recent years have enabled colleges and universities blithely to raise their tuitions, confident that Federal loan subsidies would help cushion the increase. In 1978, subsidies became available to a greatly expanded number of students. In 1980, college tuitions began rising year after year at a rate that exceeded inflation.
