Senator Feinstein's being thrown under the bus.
Dems don't need her anymore. In fact ;now she gets in the way of their agenda. She is ill . But that doesn't stop them from supporting Uncle Festerman even though he is arguably in worse shape than Feinstein(She is recovering from shingles... he is cognitively impaired and a stressful day away from another stroke.)

But if they replaced him it would be with philosophical carbon copy. But if they can oust the more traditional Dem Feinstein ;they can replace her with a radical lefty .

They cannot forgive her embrace with Goober Graham.

Democrats enraged as Feinstein-Graham hug, Romney assures Barrett (nypost.com)

Had they had an All Out Crazy Squad type Dem in her seat ,they believe Barrett could've been blocked.Feinstein voted against Barrett’s confirmation. But did not prevent the vote )

Since then the Dems have been calling for her to resign .

'Squad' member Rashida Tlaib joins calls for Dianne Feinstein to quit (nypost.com)
They spread rumors that she will not run in 2024. She has denied that .

While she is absent the Judiciary Committee is a 10-10 split .Judicial nominees need an outright majority to move out of committee to the Senate floor for confirmation. There are a bunch of radical judges on the docket waiting for confirmation. . The Dems would like to complete that task before the 2024 elections .There is no guarantee they will hold the Senate or the Presidency.

Speaking of the Presidency . Clueless Joe should be watching the sharks swimmining around Feinstein with concern. He only serves their purpose if he gets reelected. Then I am sure they will move to dispose of him too. Ousting him in 2025 would solve 2 problems . 1. Clueless Joe's increasingly cognitive decline.2. Install Kam the Sham without her actually being voted in by the people. They would have a younger figurehead at the helm.

Just incredible to think that Feinstein is insufficiently liberal to be acceptable to the modern day dem party.

The Dems have a history of lying about the health of their leaders.

    1. Woodrow Wilson suffered a stroke trying to get the Versailles Treaty passed. He was pretty much a vegetable .His wife Edith effectively ran the country from October 1919 until the end of his term in January 1920.

    2. FDR got polio in 1921 . The Dems and the press mostly hid if from the public. He was propped up for photos . He served 4 terms .

3 JFK the Dems and the compliant press showed the public a 'vigorous' man playing football on the White House lawn.
What they did not tell or show was that Kennedy was drug dependent ;taking a cocktail of medications to hide his debilitating condition .That and a sex addition clouded his judgement. He wore a corset and took pain killers for a war time back injury. In addition he had Addison’s disease that left him dependent on mood-altering drugs. This was during the height of the cold war while the US and the Soviet Union stood toe to toe with fingers on the nuclear buttons over the Cuban Missile crisis.

Clueless Joe has suffered 2 brain aneurisms. He is a shuffling zombie corpse. Yet we are regularly told he is fit and able to lead the country through his 86th birthday . He was as dumb as a rock even before those medical events.

Nope. Extemporaneous. No cue cards. And remember, former President Donald Trump bucked tradition and did not attend the dinner while he was in office. Wonder why...hmm...

I did. He was reading from the prompter. And that's not a criticism since most pols do, but it is not some verification of mental acuity.

Cue cards are not even debatable . Wednesday Clueless had a press conference along with South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol . He was photo'd with a cue card that had a picture of the reporter who was going to ask a question ;and what the question would be.

The name and photo on tbe card is of LA Times reporter Courtney Subramanian.

The question asked wasHow are YOU squaring YOUR domestic priorities — like reshoring semiconductors manufacturing — with alliance-based foreign policy?'

She did not ask the question verbatim which conceivably could've crossed him up. But it was close enough .

Clueless rarely fields questions .But unless they are about his favorite ice cream ;they are scripted .

Would you have cue cards? If so, why?

Depending on the length of the remarks, anyone would need them -- or a lot of rehearsal.

I don't blame him as much as the compliant press that goes along with the charade .

No I would not because I expect the President to be able to explain in detail the decisions the President makes.

Of course you would -- especially if you wanted to speak in an organized way, if you have to say more than ten words.

The ridiculous aspect is that JB knew both the questioner and the question prior to the press conference. That's the only way he could have had a cue card. What kind of independent, hard-nosed journalism is that? It plainly appears to be the MSM trying to cover for Biden's lack of smarts.

Yes it is a charade to pretend that the President is engaged in an impromptu exchange with the 5th column ooops I mean 4th estate when he has the question that will be asked ahead of time.

Yes I would use cue cards for something silly and inconsequential as the WH Correspondence Dinner. But if I were POTUS I would never engage in such a charade as the dinner. The relationship between the press and the government is supposed to be adversarial ....not a mutual love fest (and that is the kind way to put it ). The dinner is emblematic of a much bigger problem in the country .....the press acting as a government agency.

When you add social media to the symbiotic mix ;you get what Matt Taiibi and Michael Shellenberger calls it the 'Censorship Industrial Complex'

Nothing illustrated that more than the Hunter Biden laptop coverup during the elections that should've exposed the full extent of the Biden crime families activities for the electorate to judge.

Instead the press and social media cooperated with the administration in the cover up.

Ben Weingarten of RealClear Investigations writes in Newsweek

Those who wish to unseat the incumbent commander-in-chief already face a formidable opponent in the Democratic Party and its myriad partners, including a national security apparatus currently targeting Biden's chief opponent in this election, and that ran interference for Biden in the last one. To win in 2024, Republicans will have to compete under a lax voting system largely of the Democrats' own making, and which they manipulated and exploited to near perfection in 2020.
But Biden's challengers will also be facing a hostile and censorious information regime that transcends Biden and the Democratic Party, under which dissent from Ruling Class orthodoxy will likely be given no hearing, and dissenters given few platforms—on grounds of protecting "health" and "public safety." Biden's opponents left and right may raise compelling points on any number of critical and contentious issues, but will Americans be permitted to see or hear them?

More proof that the far left plans to throw her under the bus.

Feinstein leaves us now with no choice but to assume the worst about her motivations. Her failure to retire — and before that, her decision to run for reelection despite her advanced age — can be chalked up to arrogance. She believes the system works because it first worked for her. She climbed the ranks, achieved high office, and stayed there. Lifted to such a vantage, a person has two choices. They can look outward, survey the American landscape in its full, broken reality, and act in accordance with what they see. Or they can disappear into the same institutions that elevated them to power. Feinstein chose the latter. The climate activists she once ridiculed tried to get her to choose another path, but she did not listen. Here we stand, then, in the ruins of Feinstein’s career, in what might also be the ruins of the American experiment itself.
