    In this context, being objective means to identiify and acknowledge the limitations and shortcomings of your position. You identify the strengths and benefits of your position, and explain why they are superior despite the limitations and shortcoming you've acknoweldged.

    If you're successful, you convince the reader of your position on the matter.
