I think the cause of distortion is oringinal .mp3 file, it has distortion by itself. Not cause by converting.

Ps: my English is not good, so u may not understand. :D

    Distortion
    Hi,
I, too, think the distortion comes from the original mp3 file.
I use Nero, 5.5, to burn music, as Audio files; plays well on both car CD's and CD players in home.
The burning gives good music, no distortion, except for midi's, which my version of Nero does not support.
It will, however, but mp3, wav, etc, with no distortion.
Have you tried numerous mp3 files from different sources?
    Best of luck,
    fredg

Does the distortion also occur in the .wav files you create?

No, I said that: if the original mp3 files had distortion, the destination files would have it . Whatever formats you convert, the distortion won't lose.

Distortion with an RCA-to-mini connection? [ 1 Answers ]

I play all my music off my laptop. Currently the arrangement of my living room requires that I use a 30-ft cable to hook it up to my receiver. So I went and invested $50 in a thick cable with gold-plated connectors. Problem is, this cable is RCA-to-RCA, so of course I've got to find a mini-plug...
