    Air in hot water supply
Our hot water heater was replaced 5 months ago. Now I get spits and spurts when turning on the hot water. Sometimes the water will run a few minutes before the spitting and sputtering starts. Is there a simple solution for this?

If your water seems hotter than it was before just turn down the temperature setting. Try adjusting it a couple of degrees at a time if you like until it stops. There will be a small cover over the gauge on the outside of the tank and will probably have 2 screws to undo. This almost always helps especially on a new tank. Although whoever installed it should have checked the setting anyway. There is also a relief valve on the tank and if not working properly will cause a lot of pressure to build up in the tank which is dangerous. Try the first solution and if that doen't help call or go to the store where the tank was bought and ask some questions. Messing with the relief valve is not a good thing unless you know what you are doing.
