    Water Heater Scalding Water
There has been hotter than usual (scalding) water coming out of my faucets and shower for a couple of days. I have to keep it on the cold side to get warm water. I did drain the water heater and there was quite a bit of sediment. I replaced both the upper and lower thermostats and both the upper and lower heating element on my AO Smith electric water heater. It did not help the issue. The tank is about 9-10 years old. Is there anything else I can try to fix the hot water issue?

    Thanks.

What temp are the thermostats set on? isn't there a set point mark? Can you turn them down?
