    I would guess that you could have a bad solenoid or switch. It could even be a bad or maladjusted lid switch (on some machines). Read the book, "Understanding Automatic Washers" and by using a meter you will be able to quickly find the problem.     Attachment 48069 Or: Attachment 48070 This one is at: Commercial Electric Digital Clamp Meter-MS2002 - The Home Depot and cost me $42.38 and is a very good deal because it's an auto-ranging digital multimeter that has the clamp-around function to test for amperage when you need to test a line to see how much amperage a device is using. This meter will do it all-from testing electronic parts in TVs to testing parts in a washing machine or air conditioner. You cannot repair much of anything without a good meter.
