    Shower panel - Strange problem
Hi I bought a new shower panel for my new reno shower connection and strange but true only the cold water would shoot out.

So I swap the connections, and you guessed it only the hot water would shoot out. Ok so I when back to Lowe's and got another unit the same model.

Would you believe I had the same problem. What the heck is going on?
    Anyone have a clue?

I took the shower panel off and both hot and cold water are shooting out of the pipes. So I have no clue what to do here.

I phone the manufacturer up and they are going to send me a new valve replacement hoping this would clear up the issue.

Anyone have any suggestions thanks Tony Mazz

Perhaps you aren't adjusting the Anti-scald feature as required by the instructions? I think most if not all shower fixtures have it now as a safety feature and have for years.

If this is the case why when I switch the lines - I have no problems with the hot water?Pg 7 on the below link lists troubleshooting Tips http://international.pfisterfaucets....-0300.pdfNotes from pg.7 link above. Temperature or Flow does not remain constant. The Thermostatic Cartridge Assembly (18A) must be cleaned. Shut off water supply.Remove Button (18E) then Set Screw (18D). Remove Knob Assembly (18C) fromCartridge Assembly (18A) Unscrew Retainer Ring (18F), then remove Set Screw(18B). Remove Thermostatic Cartridge Assembly (18A) from Valve Body (18G).Inspect inlets for sediment and flush with water. Inspect O-Rings (18H) for damage.Reassemble in reversed order then turn water supply on. If problem persists, replace Cartridge Assembly (18A). . Dripping either from Hand-Held Shower, Head Shower or Body SpraysClean the Cartridge Assembly (18A). Check to ensure the O-Rings (18H) on Cartridge(18A) are in place. Reassemble Cartridge and Knob Assembly. Turn on thewater and test. If the unit still leaks, replace the Cartridge. . Make sure that both hot and cold water inlets are turned on. . No water flow or water not warm enough.Check if water heater is working properly. . Water Flow is very low.Check the Cartridge Assembly (18A) for debris. . Water starts cold and becomes hotter as handle is rotated clockwise. This is a potentially hazardous situation and should be corrected before using theunit. Check the hot and cold inlet positions (hot left, cold right). . Water flows from the Body Sprays or Hand-Held Shower when HeadShower in use.The seal inside the Diverter Mechanism (19G) may have been dislodged. The Diverter(19G) may need replacement.

After reviewing the price pfister shower panel about the only thing that makes sense to me Tony is that the flexible supply tube going to the shower panel is getting kinked when you install the panel to the wall.

    Try this...

Remove the panel from the wall having a friend help hold the shower panel off the wall... visually confirm that the hot water line isn't kinked and then cycle the shower handle left and right (confirms hot and cold water). Let the water run for a couple minutes if water flows when the handle is rotated left... give time for hot water to get to the valve.

Let us know what happens, OK?

There may be a filter screen in one of the supply hoses. Make sure one of them is not clogged with debris

Mark - Man I feel stupid you were absolutely correct and thank you very much. Now what is the best flex hose that won't kink about a foot long?

Thanks Again Mark not sure why I or Pfister didn't think of this?

Lucky guess is all! I would install a SS braided hose... shouldn't kink. If the hose still kinks you may want to purchase a longer SS hose and curl the hose into circles to eliminate the kink... use trash bag ties if needed!

    Have a good day

All will kink, especially hot water hose. I totally agree with Mark: install long hose to minimize possibility of kinking it
