Landscaper grade vinegar, not available in grocery stores. (I haven't found it yet though, so I fill a bottle with vinegar, salt, and dish soap, mostly vinegar)

I have a problem with my Blacktop Driveway and I have used Weed Be Gone and it is a losing game. Just recently, placed a 4 ft X 4 ft piece of aluminum over the grass and with the hot weather, I am hoping it will kill that spot very well and then move it to another spot and repeat. Will pick the spot clean and then will hit it with Weed Be Gone. Time will tell. Oh yes, need to fill the cracks with some Black Top coating too.

Your aluminium will reflect too much light/heat, try black plastic bags. I use two gallons of cider vinegar, 2 table spoons salt and one ounce Dawn, works great if its sunny and warm

Will give that a try. As for the Aluminum piece I am using, it is dull, you might even say it is beyond dull. Quite heavy and no need to hold it in place.

How fast does that work? Does it require putting it down several time for it to get the job done? I see mention of "Landscapers Vinegar" is that better to use? It looks like I will have the need for killing a certain South Carolina Weed over a large area and not just in cracks of my driveway.

Put Vinegar, Salt and Soap on some of my driveway to test. It sure turned the leave brown in a hurry, not sure it will kill the plant though. Need more time. Also I have a Gallon of Round Up that I will use to be sure it gets the job done.
