    Hello Angel,

May I firstly offer you my sincere condolences on the loss of Chester.

Having had many pets of various shapes, sizes and kinds and lost them through illness or old age, I certainly know how hard it can be to have to bear the loss of a beloved pet. Lets face it they are as much a family member as any human.

We lost our Jack Russell (Annie) at age 15 just over a year ago, and we still have not gotten over her.

If it any consolation at all, I doubt very much that the passing of Chester was any fault of yours. He simply died of old age. The natural lifespan of hamsters is 2 to 3 years. In human terms that is about 90.

Try to remember how much you loved Chester and cared for him extremely well. No doubt Chester loved you too in his own way.

Try to remember the fun times you had with him. Having had a hamster (Hamish) myself as a pet several years ago, I know how friendly and funny they can be.

I am sure he knew how much you cared for him and was very happy whilst he was with you.

Although you feel very sad at the moment, be assured that the hurt will eventually subside.

    Take Care and R.I.P Chester.
