I have no knowledge of these types of beds, so can I ask a question?

This zipper, is it attached to the actual mattress, or is it a cover for the bed?

    Edit:

    A few more questions.

When did you buy the bed?

Is there a warranty on the bed?

If you cannot fix it you will have to sew it up.
