My kitten is very aggressive, how can I stop it?
So little 10 week old kitten is an absolute nightmare! I've had plenty of kittens throughout my life and none quite like this one. He's the worst little monster ever! He uses the litterbox like a champ, he's a good cat in that department. But all he does is attack! He has toys, but he'd much rather climb the furniture and climb up my legs. All he does is bite and scratch and it's not like other kittens I've had it's like he wants to hurt us.

I've tried everything, I've tried blowing in his face and telling him no, but the just eggs him on. I've tried yelling no and putting him down and walking away from him. I've tried ignoring him, but he comes right back to attack. I've locked him in the bathroom, as a little time out for a couple minutes. But he still comes right back to us.

I'm waiting for him to get a little bit older so I can get him fixed, I'm hoping like hell that that will chill him out a little bit. But I'm honestly losing my patience. I don't want him to think I'm being mean all the time, but we have a 3 year old I don't want him attacking the baby. It's just frustrating. I love the little kitty to death but he needs to chill! What more can I do?

DO you have a cat tree house? If you do you might be able to train them to it. Also for the biting what I found that works best is when they try to bite you, you depress their tongue slightly causing a gag reflex. They soon get the idea that biting you is bad.

I have to get him things to climb on, unfortunately I got rid of all that stuff when my 20 year old cat passed away. I figured I was done with cats, I was going to get a dog. I feel like training a dog would have been easier lol. I've also tried depressing his tongue too, he just keeps going. I don't want to get rid of him, I've already committed to him. Some people have said cat nip might help, but my other cats went crazy when I gave it to them. He's an absolute terror! Lol

Where did you get him from, a shelter, a barn ? Catnip makes my cat chill out entirely, she has never been a cuddly cat, got her from a barn full of cats. She has never lost that mentality, although as she has got older she is a lot better.

Try the catnip; try giving him time out in a travelling cat case and what are you feeding him, whatever it is may be making him hyper ?

I got him from a barn, I didn't know that could even play a role in it. But I guess that makes sense, they did say even though he was a preemie he shouldn't have any problems in life they're tough cats.

I feed him kitten chow, and I feed him 9 lives wet food in the morning before I leave for work and at night when were having dinner because he begs for our food. I'm definitely going to get cat nip tomorrow though.

Also, even though my fiancé would kill me what if I got another kitten? I was also thinking he's alone a lot so he probably has a ton of built up energy by the time we get home. Maybe if he had a companion he would be better? Or would that just make it so I have double the trouble lol

That's what I was going to suggest--get a second kitten. Are any of his siblings still available? Or get a young cat or kitten from a shelter--springtime is kitten season, so an area shelter probably has its hands full with kittens and young cats.

Then get cat friendly with empty shoe boxes, cardboard boxes with cat-size "windows" cut out, pieces of carpet rolled inside out so the mesh backing can be used as scratching posts and the rolled-up carpet as a tunnel to hide or sleep in. There are several good sites to give you more ideas--Google "cat friendly house" (without quote marks) or similar keywords. Exhaust those kittens! Inside a year, they will sleep 16 hours a day, and you will wonder where they are.

All right it's settled! I'm going to the farm tomorrow to see if they still have any from his litter if not off to the shelter! I just hope my fiancé doesn't decide to get rid of me along with the cats haha

We have only four--including two grumpy old ones. You can ship yours to me if this doesn't work out. We will buy another litter box. :) Since our four sleep so much, maybe they won't notice two kittens romping on them.

Really, though, you can put together so many toys and cat "furniture" so easily and cheaply from stuff around your house. We are more cat friendly here than human friendly, yet our cats don't walk on the kitchen counters or trespass on our table when we eat. Most of the time we humans are in charge (but don't tell our cats that).

I wouldn't advise a companion for him right now. Let him acclimate, may take a while. Don't forget that if he is a barn cat he has some pretty strange feral genes going on in there. My old girl never did turn out all cuddly and warm, but after eight years she is a neat cat from a barn full ! Good luck, have patience and get lots of catnip. Oh, and get him some cream for treats.
