Good question... but one we don't know the answer to. Perhaps contact the Dept of Finance or Taxation in the state and country you live in.

We don't know...we are a Q&A site only...not affiliated with Federal or State taxes....I'm going to guess that maybe you should ask someone that is involved in taxes for whatever state you live in.

Your state taxes are in the bank accounts maintained by the Treasury Department for you state. Those accounts are used to pay the bills of the state or invest the funds in the state Treasury.

But I'm guessing that's not what you are asking. I suspect you want to know where your state tax REFUND is. And for that you need to contact your state's Dept of Taxation. Did you file a tax return for your state? By e-file or by mail? Did you use a preparer? When did you file? What state?

Most state tax websites have a "Where's My Refund" app similar to the IRS app on which you can track the status of your state tax refund. Suggest you look for it on YOUR state tax department website.
