I've never heard of it and a Google search doesn't come up with anything.

What folder is it in? Did you try right clicking and selecting properties?

    I found wymst.exe in msconfig startup hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\windows\curr entversion\run
I did a Google search on it also and found zip zilch nada.
Why I'm concerned about is for this reason we just reformated our computer, and bang it was there. When it's checked in startup the internet is disabled.
When I go to regrestry files there is nothing that I there with this name unless it's embedded itself. Would love to know if it's a legit window's file and if it is why does it disables the internet? Hmmm good questions huh. Oh and bythe way thanks ScottGem I really appreciate the time you are taking to help :)

Did you search your hard drive for the file? If so, what folder did you find it in?

Post the exact size of the file, in bytes.

The name could be randomly chosen...

It would be great if we could get an md5sum as well.

OK here it goes... did a file find on my hard drive for it nothing came up so I investigated more. Found it in zone alarm under program control I have everything block on it.
    Entry details are as follows,
    File name C:\Windows\system32\wymst.exe
    Policy Manually configured
    File Size 76 KB

    psi42 sorry couldn't find a md5sum.

I have it disabled in my startup but it will only stay unchecked if I keep my system restore turned off. I guess it really doesn't seem like I have a problem, but I shouldn't think I would have to disable system restore to keep this from starting up so I am able to get on the net.

Thanks to both of you for taking the time with this I really appreciate it.
Maybe I'm rooting around into things on this computer that I should just leave alone now that I can get on the net. Nosey female hehehe. :)

I'm at a loss. What you posted indicates it's in the system32 folder but you don't seem to find it there. However, if there is nothing on the Net about it I would just leave it alone.

Thanks Scott for the time you have taken with me and if I find anything out about it I'll let you know. Still very curious about it. Mind you will snooping around my freshly reformatted computer I did find a piece of spyware that adware and Microsoft antispyware had not found so I guess something constructive came out of it. :)

Could we get the file size in bytes, not kilobytes?
