I see a lamp with an internal label stating... Made In USA Levitron 660w 250v. So many old gorgeous lamps are for sale and no easy way I know of to discover what the max wattage bulb is that they can power, I suppose other than trying bulb after bulb. Is there a better way to know for certain?...
Upon installation of bulb, base of bulb burns and bulb never lights

Installed two new 3 bulb post lights on concrete entry piers, one bulb pops and burns the base immediately upon installation... I have checked the wiring and everything is wired correctly, I assume ths is a bad bulb socket and the fixture is defective, has anyone had this problem before?
