    It's come to this 2.1
The People's Republic of NYC may ban vaping because it looks bad.

New York City May Ban Vaping Because It Looks Like Smoking - Hit & Run : Reason.com

I can't imagine there is anything more pressing than preventing people from enjoying a safe alternative to cigarettes, can you?

Doesn't surprise me at all. de Blasio is nanny Bloomy on steroids . He will continue all of Bloomy's ban and add some off the wall ones on his own. Coming soon ;a ban on horse drawn carriages in Central Park in the name of animal rights.

can't see the point of banning something that does away with cigarette smoke, unless the tobacco companies support your campaign. do they also ban candy cigarettes?

    It's unsafe to knit

Surely this is first for any nanny state?

these vapor cigs were invented to wean people off tobacco. What happened instead is that they are hooking a new generation on tobacco because they are cool and flavored .Also people can use them undetected indoors so it's become a trend for smokers to take the smokeless ones into bars ,concerts etc.

And of course the pot crowd have discovered vaporizers for pot too. They are expensive ....the Pax vaporizer goes for about $250 . Since the user doesn't inhale some of the toxins inherent in smoke inhalation ,it's probably a positive development over the alternatives.

The question is when is it responsible? these protests are about old growth forests, pristine areas, noone protests about plantation forest harvesting, just about destruction of old growth forest to establish plantations; it's a hardwood v softwood debate

The whole point of this thread besides the silliness of the world around us is to protest AMHD allowing the last thread to exceed their limits and making over 100 posts to disappear.

Don't be a cynic Tom, we love our old growth forest and don't want multinational timber companies profiting from them any more than we want multinational agribusiness profiting from our wheat crop.
We have the will to defy multinationalism!
