    Concussions
    Got hit in the head playing football. My head now hurts and the lights hurt it more. If the game was at 9:30, is it safe for me to go to sleep?

    Read this.

    So long as you don't have trouble functioning, dialated pupils, troubles walking or speaking, or anything like that then it is safe to go to sleep. In fact it is encouraged. When you get hit hard in the head the brain gets bounced around the skull cavity which leads to bruising of the brain. The concussion describes the bruising of the brain. Sleeping helps with the healing process of the brain. So long as there aren't signs of haemorrhaging or swelling then it is safe to sleep.
