Floaters usually don't start happening a lot until we are in our 50s to 70s. If he was tested for detached retina and doesn't have it, then he should not worry, but he should be vigilant for any sudden change. If floaters (and flashing lights, like I and many older people also have) get suddenly worse, he should go back for the same tests again. If he gets a sudden 'veil' of gray over his field of vision, he should get to a hospital immediately.
I don't understand why he is going to several specialists for floaters. He should pick one ophthalmologist he trusts and whose equipment is the newest, and he should stay with that doctor.

Do you mean that you think his problem may be psychological maybe? In other words, you think that he imagines that he sees floaters?
I had floaters "stirred up" by cataract surgery and they disappeared (settled to the bottom of the eye) over about a 6 week period.
If they seriously interfere with his vision, try to find a teaching hospital. But if they have ruled out a detached retina as a cause, he may have to just get used to them. Sometimes the eye and the mind can learn to look through the floaters as if they weren't there.
I have read that there is a procedure to replace the fluid in the eye to get rid of floaters, but that it can be risky.
I had a long recovery from my cataract surgery and had some doubts about whether I would ever have normal sight in that eye again (for about a week to ten days). Having sight in an eye is so much more important than anything else that affects an eye-- I learned.
If he has seen one or more certified eye specialists, there is a medical college near you according to a search I did- have you tried that school's hospital?

I too was wondering if physiological meant psychological. And not that the floaters aren't there, but that he is obsessing over them. He needs to read what we are saying - they are very common, and it isn't hard to get used to them. They hit me one day when I was watching a TV show about parasites that can be seen in the EYE, of all things, and I was so paranoid for about an hour; I even thought I saw them wiggling! And no, they weren't there all along and I was just then aware of them - it really was a coincidence. My sister, who is 4 years older, had started getting them 4 years ago, so I was right on schedule.

I have floaters. Sometimes see them, sometimes not. My ophthamologist said, the brain lets you see ONLY what it wants you to see. As far as floaters go, that makes perfect sense to me.

I read somewhere and tried it (and it worked) -- blink your eyes real fast ten times, stop for a minute or so, then blink ten times again. Do it again, if necessary. The floaters hopefully will leave your line of sight.

You, I wrote in my original post... about my brother problem
Actually I have heard about this that floaters at this age of 20-30 also go by doing some some eye exercise.

Floaters do not go away with eye exercises. If you have them, you have them for life. It is like a said in my original post. The brain only lets you see what it wants you to see. Do you understand that ? There is no home remedy, period.

I don't notice mine most of the time because I AM NOT LOOKING FOR THEM.
