    Is my girlfriend pregnant?
Ok so me an my girlfriend are sexually active an have been for about 4 months. She is on the depo shot an her next time getting it is October 17. About 5-6 weeks ago she had some spotting a few days after taking plan b. An that lasted for about a week then her period came like 2 weeks early. So we waited an I don't know then she started spotting again around the time of her period (the end of the month) but she never got her period. She was also bloated for a week or so. So like 2 weeks ago we took a test an it said negative an she spotted a few more days then stopped. But ever since then she's been gaining weight an sometimes she'll be bloated an she is pretty skinny an has never really gained weight but she's been gainin pretty fast an her boobs have gotten much bigger an they feel a lot fuller an heavier. Not only that she has soreness on the sides of her breasts not the middle or anything. Is she pregnant or is it something else?

Pregnancy can only be diagnosed with a urine test, a blood test, or an ultrasound in later pregnancy. It can not be diagnosed any other way. Since we can't access any of the ways to diagnose, we can't tell you if she's pregnant or not.

It is possible. No form of birth control is 100%, so any time you have sex, pregnancy is possible.

I would urge both of you to read the pamphlet that should have come with the morning after pill, specifically the section detailing the possible side effects of this pill.

She'll have to wait and see what happens, just like every other woman on the face of this Earth. She shouldn't test until her period is at least 2 weeks late, then test using first morning urine. If that test is negative, wait and see what happens with her next one, and if that's missed, test again, or get a blood test done.

If you are sexually active, what type of birth control are you using??

She took plan B once ? Not more than once.

Plan B can have many side effects, changes in period and cycle is one of them, the bloating can be from her getting ready to have a period.

But again she could also be pregnant ?

Did she take the pregnancy test, first thing in the morning as soon as she woke up ? That is when you get best results.

How late for her period is she now ?

There is no way for us to know whether she is pregnant. You both are playing the waiting game now.

I have no idea whether she is. I'm a nurse, I can't diagnose by "hunches" or guesses. I have to go by test results. At this point, so do you.

However, the depo shot is pretty effective for most people. Then she took Plan B, which can mess up her periods for several months.
