Honda Civic '89 1.6L - which throttle body?
About to purchase a replacement fuel injection throttle body. Seller says his available part is for a 1.5L engine, but that it should be O.K. for a 1.6L. Is he correct?

Not much on them but it should bolt right up and work. 1.5 and a 1.6 ain't much bigger in size. 1.6 and 1.5 is the oil it holds.

I would check the outer diameter. Chances are if they are the same, the inner diameter is too.
By the way, the 1.6l/1.5l has nothing to do with the oil, but the volume displaced by the pistons in a revolution.

Well why then does a 6.0 liter use 6.0 liters of oil, I know its its displacement its just the general oil it can contain. Have a 2.3 litler that uses 2.3 liters of oil.

My 2.2 Ecotec takes 5.8 quarts of oil, and my 1.8 truck takes 6.

Hmmm aw well I deal with chevy's mostly. I have a 267 4.4 liter v8 that well takes 4.4 liters of oil, just some do though, the oil pan holds that. Hmmmm that reminds me, need new plugs  and distributor points and wires. I've just dealt with chevys and olds, boy oh boy I wish those olds were still being made :(

Got the Answer!
Thanks to all who responded to my plea. I found a Specs sheet that said all '89 Honda Civics had 1.5L engines. The CRX Si, however, had a 1.6L engine, and many books and web sites list the CRXs with Civics (why, I dunno).
So, I bought a 1.5L throttle body.
Thanks again,
Chuck

I have a 91 honda civic 4 door sedan dx. I just replaced the rotor and distributor cap and now the car won't start. First I checked multiple times to be sure I had the firing order correct. I then read the thread written by CroCivic91 and checked my ECU codes. I got a 10 and 16. The 16 sounds...

Engine runs rough - a lack of power but not a hard miss - until engine warms up but car must sit for at least 18 hrs. 170,000 miles. Replaced plugs, cap rotor - no help. Distributor shaft has minor oil leak allowing oil to get inside of cap - maybe related.
