    Troy bilt mower problems
I have a troybilt pony riding mower. After dropping it into reverse with the blades still engaged (oops) the mower stalled out like it should, however there was a loud gunshot like sound and now it will do exactly nothing. When I turn the key there is no click, no nothing. I checked the in line fuse which is still good. I have tried disconnecting/reconnecting the battery and nothing. The only thing I can think of is the transmission slipped and is registering it is still in gear which is why it won't start. Is this possible? And if not what could it be?

    Hi,
Is the deck still engaged? That will do that. The loud bang you heard was afterfire from hot unburned air/gas mix entering a hot muffler. This will potentially shear a flywheel key which would keep it from starting, but not from turning over. Having the deck engaged, not putting on the brake or being in the seat could do those.
    Peace,
    Clarke
