Lowering drivers seat in '93 Tempo
Ok, I'm presently driving my sister's '93 Tempo until my Escort gets checked over for a broken timing belt. I'm considering taking over the Tempo if the Escort is too costly to fix, but there's a problem. I'm 6'3" and I got to be a contortionist to get in & out of this car. It hurts my neck & back every time I do so. There is no electric switch to raise/lower the seat, so my query is: can one take the seat out & re-position it so the seat bottom drops 1-2 inches, which would be enough to get my aching head clear of the low roof line; or could one lower the seat by cutting the seat frame assembly & re-welding it? And the last thing: Could I get a junkyard seat w/the electric switch/motors & install that into the car's electrical system w/o too much trouble? Thanks!
